Knowing something without living it isn't worth much.

Tea with a Nazi

I once spent a day with Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan in 1990, and he spoke briefly about the quality of forgiveness.

He said, "I knew I had learned something about forgiveness when I could invite the Nazi who tortured my sister to death into my home for afternoon tea."

His bigness of heart was astounding.

I doubt that I could have done as well.
